Course 3: Autumn 2019

Welcome to the Grow Project – Term 3!

Hi everyone, welcome to Term 3 of the Grow Project.  The six modules of this final term will focus on the ‘outward’ dynamic of our vision statement at STC, “Live Life Better”; in other words, how do we take our faith in Jesus out into the public square, into our everyday lives?  These modules will build upon the previous two terms of Community (Meet Friends) and Encounter (Meet God) – indeed, this is where the rubber hits the road and discipleship becomes real!

There are six modules covering what we see as the key attributes (there are others!) of a life lived for Jesus; these include “Generosity”, “Kindness”, “Hospitality” (revisited in a different way) along with exploring our “Calling” under God and our “Witness” for God.  We begin with exploring “The Better Life” – the life Jesus came to bring.  Enjoy this term!

As in terms 1 and 2, here is a reminder of our simple flow chart to help you navigate through the modules. We start with the Lifeshapes videos, and then move on to that particular module which in itself has three sections, Look, Think and Act.

There are six teaching modules this term as we focus on ‘Life Life Better – Discipleship’. The key topics covered are below with their launch dates.

  • 20 September – The Better Life
  • 27 September – Witness
    (3 week break)
  • 25 October – Calling
  • 1 November – Kindness
    (2 week break)
  • 22 November – Generosity
  • 29 November – Hospitality
    (Christmas!)

We begin this term with two short, simple videos presenting two new Lifeshapes – ‘Tools for the Task’ for this term. As you use these helpful tools they will become part of you and you won’t have to keep referring back to them.  Don’t forget the four Lifeshapes introduced in terms 1 and 2!
