Pentecost Sunday

We’re excited to celebrate the birthday of the Church together! There will be a few things organised onsite, but this is a great opportunity to connect with friends and neighbours as well. In Sheffield there is a long history of taking the Pentecost Party to the streets and parks of the city, we would love our ‘6s’ to get involved!

A street party, a BBQ, giving away sunflower seeds, balloons, worshiping on the street or in the park, birthday cake, party bags, an English tea party, a cuppa with a neighbour? You probably have a whole host of other creative ideas. We would love to hear them!

There are also some different ways you can join in onsite on the day:

  • 8.45am* – Gathering onsite – a time to worship God, pray together and hear from the Bible.
  • 11am* – Onsite, outside – This will be a short gathering (standing room only!) where we’ll be able to SING as we celebrate Pentecost together! Spaces are limited and you will need to book. There will also be a pre-recorded online gathering at 11am, for those who would like to watch online.
  • 7pm* – Onsite Gathering, which will also be online, livestreamed to Facebook and YouTube. We’re really pleased to be joined by guest speaker Mike Rutter, the senior leader of Network Church Sheffield.

*You will need to book to attend a gathering on site. You can book from 8pm on Monday 17th May through this link.

After the 11am gathering we have organised for a small team of people to take the piano out on the streets again. Please pray for them as they sing and connect with people on the streets!

Giveaways! From 12pm we’ll be inviting friends and neighbours from the community to come and pick up some free sunflower seeds or a balloon from the village square outside church.

We can’t wait to celebrate together!
