This Lent, our theme is He Works For Good. In the cross of Jesus, we see both the very worst of evil practice (a brutal instrument of torture) combined with the forces of evil moving against him. However, this symbol of failure and weakness meets God’s divine purpose and becomes the greatest symbol of restoration and hope. Romans 8:28, “and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him”, essentially means that Satan’s plans were disrupted and defeated by Christ’ divine providence. With this verse in mind, we will journey through Joseph’s story in Genesis, prayerfully asking the Lord to reframe the most challenging and painful parts of life through the lens of the crucifixion and God’s redeeming power.
