Extravagant Generosity

Building on Bryony’s talk last week this week we examine the Early Church’s generosity.  Their generosity pointed to God’s long promised new covenant – it reflects God’s generosity to us.  But the key question is how did the early church manage to remain so generous and outward looking while living under so much pressure.  It’s said that we ‘create around us what we cultivate within us’.  One particular man mentioned in the passage, Barnabas was so generous with his money, his time and his words.  Under pressure what oozes out of you?  If Barnabas oozed extravent generosity – how did it happen?  What can we learn?
